Review : Decent collectors' knickknacks for a Castlevania fan.
If you're looking at this item, chances are you're a Castlevania fan of above-average enthusiasm. I must admit that I am, too, so this review is written in that context.
This item was originally sold for an extra $5 with a preorder for Portrait of Ruin at Gamestop in 2006, and I wouldn't give the collectors' items as high of a rating if I had to pay a collectors' price for it. You can easily purchase much of the artwork and music in more complete collections, but this collector's pack is a decent sampler if you don't already own all the art and music tracks included and would enjoy them, especially at something at least somewhat resembling the original price point.
The art booklet is all right. I love that they included the old-school art from the NES and SNES titles, but many of the images aren't very high resolution and sadly look grainy or blurry. The paper is sturdy, though, and the prints of the newer art (such as the Ayami Kojima art that most purchasers...
