Review : An attempt to improve on Secret of Mana that isn't quite an improvement ~
Note: make sure you buy a copy that has been made for American SNES devices or buy a converter (basically a plastic piece that you put into the SNES game slot and then put the Japanese game into that).
There are a few issues that I had with this game, I'll get those out of the way first.
The most notable shortcoming in my opinion is what most people probably enjoy, and that is the level grinding. No longer do you have to train for hours with magic to level it up. But the fact is, I liked that system. The same goes for the weapon leveling. Though I don't miss having to change weapons constantly to chop rocks or whip over a chasm. That was tedious.
Another major shortcoming is in the battle pace. You can't really get the magic window open quickly, this is especially true if things are happening during battle. Your control is locked so even tapping the x button repeatedly does nothing. Then you look in horror as the enemy hits you three...
