Review : Great next step for Skylander fans
I was fortunate I guess, I got this for 25% less than it's going for here at a local brick and mortar. My son really loves video games, everything from Little Big Planet on the PS3 to Mario Kart on the Wii to Halo on the Xbox. But the Skylanders game really set him on fire, he just loved being able to change characters in the middle of the game at will by swapping characters on the "portal of power." He loved that sense of power it gave him and the variety.
Gameplay is actually much better than I had expected when we first purchased the original game, and when I saw this new game, I had to grab it even though we only had the Spyro's Adventure for a couple weeks and hadn't finished it yet.
So the play is very similar, and the characters from the first Skylanders game will work on here (though these are not all backwards compatible with the first game). So it was nice being able to extend what we already owned rather than having to start from scratch with a new...
